Hey guys, Paint here with a few ideas. Now, I know that this site is pretty new and I know that I'm not the best role-player out there (to those who like to judge people on that) but I know a bit about Proboards and how to make a site look more "Joinable". Now, I really don't want to sounds snobby, or pushy, or anything so Don't take this in any offense.
Anyway, lets get started.
First off, I think it would get a great idea to delete the "Help" board, and just make a FAQ of the roleplay, and at the end you could state that if they had further questions then the person could ask a MOD or Admin.
Secondly, The skin isn't that bad, however the colors clash. The welcome banner and the Main Banner are the only things that really go together. But, I think that a More hot color scheme would fit the site better. There are plenty of sites to get Pre-made skins off of.
Third, The Side Boxes. I feel like Staff, Census, and High Ranks should be above the Chat Box so that people can find them more easily. Also, A Side Directory would be really nice to have. Such as a side box that has the links to the Rules, FAQ, Character Applications, and such.
Fourth, In the "Alchemy Guide" board, I feel like you should make a thread that explains what Alchemy, and Alchahestry. That way, people who've never seen there series can also role-play here without having to look everything up before hand. That often turns people off of roleplays whenever things are blandly pointed out for them.
And Lastly, That I can think of right now at least, And this one is just my own personal preference, but If you could like...find a way to connect the Side Boxes, I think it'd make the site look nicer. That, and making a tad bit longer Board descriptions. Like..merge a board or two together (Such as Rules and Announcements) That wat the site looks less cluttered.
Anyway, that pretty much sums up everything.

Yes, I can too help with skinning if that's alright. XD .
Also..suggestions:
1) Maybe a more customized yet simple application for more FMA based setting? Also, if you are an Alchemist or such? Another part 2 for the site? Like..for special skills and such?
2) Skin..I agree. Also needs to me more organized and it's a bit..plain. I can easily modify a premade skin. XD Just hook me up with one.
3) Side Bar: Maybe OTM and a box for announcement/events?
4) Indeed. Maybe Call it : [something] 101?
5) Custom Stuff: Yeah..this might be seen coming. But as some people progress, they should obtain new stuff. Like skills,abilities,etc.
6) Sign Ups: Maybe a sign up for special stuff? >3>

EDIT !:
7) Make boards/sub boards more organized. I see some boards that can be combined or put under another board. XD

Okay..New ideas:
1) Ranking System. You aren't perfect/master in some fields early on? This is the Ranking field represents.
2) Skill System: Maybe specific abilities can have specific skills?
3) More Ways to Earn Money: Yeah..>3>
